Low rosettes of large, coarse bristly foliage send up flowering stems to 1.2 metres, pyrimidal in shape and composed of small white flowers surrounded by showy white bracts which persist and add great interest for a long time from July onwards.

Biennial or short lived perennial that will self seed where happy on well drained soil in sun. Good for bees and drought tolerant too
